Frozen Yogurt | “Ice Cream”

For Valentine’s Day I really wanted to do something different other than cookies or cupcakes. I’ve been dying for Frozen Yogurt and thought I could get away with doing it during winter, if it was for a holiday!

Strawberry Banana Frozen Yogurt. It is so healthy!

This is SO simple and so easy to make. It will definitely make you want to have “Ice Cream” more often. No Ice Cream Maker required! I have also tried it without Yogurt and it came out just fine as a Sorbet! So for those of you that are Paleo, this is for you too!

You can add whatever frozen fruit you would like. I did use fresh Strawberries. I cut them up and froze them in a baggy. It really helps to keep the “Ice Cream” frozen. I did not freeze my Yogurt because when you blend it, it pretty much melts anyways. The Bananas are key! You really could just blend a couple frozen Bananas and eat it like that! So good!

Be sure to taste it and adjust your Honey and Vanilla to your liking!

“Ice Cream”

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 2 Bananas (Very ripe) (Peeled and frozen)
  • 1/2 cup Strawberries (Cut in half and Frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla

Optional

  • 1/2 cup Yogurt

Note

If I have some leftover and I don't need my food processor for a day or so, I leave the "ice cream" in the food processor bowl and place in fridge. You can re-blend and add ice if you want it thicker.

Directions

1. Chop bananas in large chunks and place in food processor. Add the yogurt if using it. Blend until smooth.
2. Add strawberries, honey and vanilla, blend again until smooth.
3. Serve immediately.

    YUM! I made this last night and loved it. My 4 year old helped me put it all together, which he enjoyed. It had a smoothie texture to it, maybe just a tad thicker. We had leftovers so I put it in the freezer and just pulled it out this afternoon. I let it sit on the counter for a bit then gobbled it up! I might even like it better the next day after it’s frozen into a hard ice cream-like texture. Thanks so much for sharing this, we’ll definitely be making it again!
